About the Presenter:

Ann Garson 1

Ann Garson is the Grants Coordinator and a Foundation Manager at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. A lawyer by training, she facilitates the grant making of twelve family foundations working with them to engage multiple generations and fulfill their philanthropic goals. She manages grant requests from both the Jewish and general communities that are submitted for consideration by the 40+ supporting foundations affiliated with the federation.  Over 65 million dollars were granted specifically from the Supporting Foundations of the Jewish Federation last year.  Of the total 127 million granted from the Jewish Federation, over 50 million was granted to general community non-Jewish charitable organizations, nearly 20 million here in Northeast Ohio. Ann works with the Endowment Fund Committee of the Federation which makes grants supporting the needs of Cleveland’s Jewish and general community.  She is also the coordinator of the Saltzman Youth Panel (SYP). The SYP is a Jewish youth philanthropy program of 40 high school students who meet throughout the school year learning how to evaluate grant proposals and prioritize community needs.
