Part 2 of the Lessons Learned series for nonprofit start-up organizations

At their initial stages, nonprofits take the measure of the communities or fields they intend to serve and develop programs based on the results of their research and assessments. In doing this, they ask themselves:

  • What problem(s) are we trying to solve?
  • What are the best ways to solve the problem(s)?
  • What differences will we make in the community?

The Foundation Center is pleased to present the second in our Lessons Learned series, this time focusing on effective program development. This second session will feature case studies of organizations that successfully navigated the research and development process to create programs that have been sustainable for at least two years.

Our speakers will talk about how they were able to fine-tune their organization’s niche in their communities, and how outcome-based program planning helped them secure support from donors.

Stay tuned for the third and last program of this series, which will discuss business planning for your start-up organization.
