Learn how arts organizations and artists can most effectively work with elected officials.
Presented in collaboration with the Arts & Business Council of New York.
Elected officials need information about what is happening in their communities and what concerns their constituents have; they also need to know how to connect to the issues uppermost in people's minds. Often, nonprofit organizations serve as means of obtaining this information and connecting with these important issues.
The Foundation Center and the Arts & Business Council of New York have invited representatives of New York state and local government agencies to talk about how they work with nonprofit arts organizations and artists to best serve their communities. Join us to learn how to keep elected officials informed about your activities, how to convey the value of your work and organization, and how to get your issues and concerns onto the elected officials’ agendas in order to advance mutual agendas.
