A special Funding for Health and Human Services month program

Stories are emotional, and emotions drive giving. Stories are also easier to remember than facts and figures, making it easy for supporters to tell their friends about your work. All nonprofits have great stories, but exactly how do you go about telling them? What do you emphasize and what do you leave out? During this workshop, we’ll remove some of the mystery from the storytelling process by showing you how to use three time-honored storytelling plots: The Challenge Plot, the Creativity Plot, and the Connection Plot. We’ll look at several examples of good nonprofit stories, break down why they work, and review how to apply those lessons to your nonprofit’s stories.

Presented by: Kivi Leroux Miller, president of Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com and author of The Nonprofit Marketing Guide: High-Impact, Low-Cost Ways to Build Support for Your Good Cause. Kivi's book will also be available for purchase at a special price.

Space is limited. Register online below or in person. Registrants requiring ASL signers or other disability-related services are asked to contact the Foundation Center at least two weeks in advance. If you need further information, please call (415) 397-0902.
