Learn the key components of a proposal to a foundation, and hear more about making your case from Tim McCormick, President of McCormick Consulting.
For those new to proposal writing, this class will cover:
- How the proposal fits into the overall grantseeking process
- What to include in a standard proposal to a foundation
- Tips for making each section of your proposal stronger
- What funders expect to see in your proposal and attachments
- Tips for communicating with funders during the grant process
- Additional resources on proposal writing, including sample proposals
What do you need to do to make the strongest argument you can in your grant proposal? Following the class, hear from Tim McCormick, President of McCormick Consulting, on the best ways of making your case to a foundation. Tim will provide an outline for key elements to include in your case, as well as a sample case handout.
About the presenter:
Tim McCormick has more than 30 years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience. Throughout his extensive YMCA career, Tim focused on bringing together volunteers and staff members to realize a shared vision. He has led numerous YMCA Capital and Major Gift solicitations in Ohio, Michigan and Louisiana. Beyond the YMCA, Tim provided leadership to fundraising efforts for arts organizations like the Cleveland Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony and the National Symphony in Washington, D.C. In his role as a consultant he has provided leadership to several capital campaigns in Ohio, New York and Minnesota. Tim has provided organizational development and capacity building consultation to several non-profit groups in Northeast Ohio. He holds a teaching degree from Miami University (Bachelor’s) and did Master’s work at Central Michigan University where he was a faculty member. Tim is a Board member and the President elect for the AFP Greater Cleveland Chapter. He has also served as the Vice President for Resource Development and the Secretary/ Treasurer for the Chapter.
