After the Grant (segment 7 of 8)
Question #6: What else can you tell us about positioning an organization to be in the best position to get the next grant?
So you got the grant, now what? While many new to grantseeking consider the grant check to be the end of a long process, from the grantmakers' perspective that process has just begun. This program helps you learn how to make the most of your existing relationships with grantmakers. Based on the Foundation Center's new book, After the Grant: The Nonprofit's Guide to Good Stewardship, panelists addressed a variety of stewardship issues including meeting and communicating with funders, issues related to reporting on grants, and troubleshooting advice when things don't go as planned. Panelists include grantmakers who are chapter authors or featured case studies in the new book, as well as other local foundation representatives:
- Andrea Gooden, program manager, Pacific Gas & Electric Company
- Jamie Allison Hope, program officer, S. H. Cowell Foundation
- Stephanie Rapp, senior program officer, Walter and Elise Haas Fund
- Nancy Wiltsek, trustee, Gagarin Trust
