Strategic collaborations, joint programming, and mergers are becoming more and more important to the nonprofit sector every day and understanding your options for working collaboratively to achieve mission-critical impact is a must for today’s nonprofit leaders. Following the class, learn about Red Tree House, a collaborative online community for families and children, spearheaded by Craig Wilson, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland.
This free class, developed in partnership with La Piana Consulting, will walk you through the basics of collaboration and provide you with:
- an understanding of why nonprofits are choosing collaboration
- knowledge on the range of collaboration options available
- a framework for the basic process steps in forging successful collaborative relationships
- action steps for further exploration
- access to model collaborations
Including an introduction to the Nonprofit Collaboration Database, this presentation of Understanding Collaboration will feature tools that can put your organization on the path to successful collaborative partnerships.
About the presenter:
Craig Wilson has been the Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House of Cleveland, Inc. (RMH) since August 2002. Since Craig joined RMH, the organization has expanded its programing through the addition of the Family Room program, now located at four hospitals, and the Red Treehouse program. Red Treehouse was launched in 2004 and, through a partnership developed with Ohio Family and Children First, expanded statewide in 2012. With the addition of these new programs, the number of individuals served by the organization has increased from 3,600 to over 90,000. In addition, the Ronald McDonald House is currently undergoing a construction project that will add 18 more guest rooms (bringing the total to 55) and renovating the existing facility. During Craig’s tenure, RMH has won three awards for: 1) The RMH board recruitment and retention plan, 2) the creation and implementation of the Red Treehouse program, and 3) the creation and implementation of multiple Family Room programs.
Craig has a Masters in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Grove City College in Pennsylvania. Craig currently serves on the Board of Trustees for University Circle Incorporated (UCI) and the UCI Nominating and Governance Committee. He recently served on the Cleveland State University Visiting Committee on Continuing Education, Pediatric Advisory Council for Hospice of the Western Reserve, and the Global Advisory Council of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
