The Breakfast Club: A Peer Circle for Directors of Small Development Shops
For full-time directors of development with at least 12 months of experience and with fewer than 5 staff members (including you).
Would you like help deciding where to put your energies when your “to do” list is getting longer each day?
Do you find the relationship between your executive director and your board more strenuous and time-consuming than the relationship between you and your donors?
Do you feel you could do a better job of “managing up” or engaging program staff in friendraising efforts?
And, do you need a reminder to take care of yourself because you feel there’s barely enough time to take care of your job?
The Breakfast Club is a monthly support group for people like you, directors of small development shops, to share challenges and strategies for personal and organizational success. In an informal, roundtable format facilitated by experts from Cause Effective, members can share their insights, gain practical solutions, and remedy any on-the-job isolation or stress that they might experience. We also include panel discussions with member participants, as well as opportunities to hear from invited speakers. Cause Effective has assisted more than 5000 nonprofit organizations over 35 years to diversify funding, raise more money from individuals, activate their boards of directors, and get the greatest value from special events and anniversaries in order to better achieve their missions.
The Club will gather monthly on Fridays, 9:30-11:00 am, beginning on April 7, 2017. The Foundation Center will supply the warm environment and light breakfast, Cause Effective the expertise, and you and your peers… all the rest! This program is designed to be responsive to you and your needs – so your ideas will also help us shape the program as it progresses.
The cost to participate in the program (if accepted) is $125.
The Breakfast Club's 2017 meeting dates will be: April 7, May 5, June 2, September 8, October 6, and November 3. The deadline to apply is Friday, March 10.
