Matching gifts are unrestricted grants that a company will give to match its employees’ charitable contributions. Grants are often dollar-for-dollar, but some companies will give double or even triple the original donation. Typically, individuals must submit forms to their employer to trigger the grant. Many companies offer matching gift programs, but the median percentage of employee participation is under 10 percent, according to Giving in Numbers, 2013 edition.

His first position was as its Cell Center coordinator, leading the organization to back-to-back record telefund years. Since Brett was a freshman at Texas A&M, each year he worked for and contributed to the university in some capacity, especially with the athletic department and The Association of Former Students. Brett graduated in 2010 from Texas A&M with a degree in Sport Management and Business.
