Al Grimes, director of the Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative, shares stories of why he is so passionate about the work he does. He tells the affect his relationships with both his father and his two daughters have had on his life and gives a testament to the positive role of a father in a child’s world. Hear how he has taken this passion to a new level in his work at the fatherhood initiative and how this organization is helping get fathers involved.
The Cuyahoga County Fatherhood Initiative is the only one if its magnitude in the state of Ohio. Al has been responsible for the Initiative since its inception in 2004. He manages all county related fatherhood contracts, represents the county in fatherhood collaborations, directs policy development and technical assistance among collaborations and works with national, state and local partners to monitor the successes of other fatherhood programs. Mr. Grimes has over 25 years of management experience with BP America and the General Motors Corporation in addition to his experience with the county. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ohio Northern University.
