In the current economy, nonprofit organizations are looking for creative ways to raise money. But nonprofits should be aware of the many legal requirements that govern fundraising, both from the IRS and the State of Georgia. Arm yourself with information to avoid problems down the road.
During this workshop, our speakers will help representatives from nonprofits understand:
- The required fundraising "paperwork" (including charitable solicitation registration)
- The tax considerations of fundraising (including unrelated business income and sales tax)
- A variety of specific fundraising models (including cause marketing, licensing intellectual property, sponsorships, raffles and other gaming, and special events)
Presented by: Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta
Speakers: Mindy Simon, Associate General Counsel, Emory University & Robyn Miller, Corporate/Tax Counsel, Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta
