Come hear from Jane Christyson, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, and a panel of funders to learn the best ways of engaging women donors for your organization.
This free lunch program will engage a panel of experts to discuss the best methods of connecting with women donors. Bring your lunch and your questions and concerns for this one-of-a-kind program.

About the presenters:
Jane Christyson, Chief Executive Office, Girl Scouts of North East Ohio
Jane Christyson has more than 35 years of nonprofit administration and management experience with a concentration in special events and corporate sponsorships. She is currently Chief Executive Officer for Girl Scouts of North East Ohio which serves 30,000 girl members and 10,000 adult volunteers in 18 counties. She also serves on the Girl Scouts of the United States of America National Sponsorship and Licensing Committee.
Jane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Cleveland State University. She graduated cum laude. She has served the community as a volunteer with many organizations and is currently on the Board of Directors of Beck Center for the Arts, North Pointe Ballet and Mercury Theatre; the Education Committee of the Musical Theatre Project; and is a member of the Cleveland United Way Council of Agency Executives. Jane was a Girl Scout for 10 years, a Girl Scout Leader for 8 years and earned the First Class Award (now known as the Gold Award) the highest award in Girl Scouting. She is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts.
Diane Downing, Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Corporate Affairs for Huntington National Bank
In her role, Diane develops strategies for expanding the bank’s community involvement, including increased investments in local nonprofit agencies and memberships on local boards. From May 2015 until August of 2017 she was on leave from Huntington to serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the Host Committee for the Republican National Convention—the nonprofit civic organization responsible for bringing the Convention to Cleveland.
Diane has served as the Cleveland District Director for United States Senator George Voinovich, as Vice President and Stadium Operations Director for the Cleveland Browns, as Project Manager for the construction of the new Cleveland Browns Stadium and in executive Cabinet positions for Mayors Michael White and George Voinovich. She came to Cleveland in 1977, after graduating from Vassar College, to work for County Commissioner Seth Taft. Diane is married to attorney Tom Corrigan. They live in the Edgewater neighborhood of Cleveland and have three grown children.
Joan Villarreal, Senior Vice President (retired), Lorain National Bank
Joan Villarreal is a long time community volunteer who has lived most of her life in Lorain County. Joan began an extensive banking career in 1975 that included time in bank card management, audit, accounting, loan operations and CRA. She was a team leader for mainframe computer conversions and a liaison between the bank and federal regulators. From 1998 – 2006 Joan worked for two different United Ways. At United Way of Greater Lorain County she coordinated the planning and implementation of a new funding system that measured program outcomes. In 2003 she moved to United Way of Greater Cleveland where she helped design an organizational assessment process that reviewed partner agency infrastructures such as strategic planning, board engagement and funding diversity.
In 2006 Joan was recruited by Lorain National Bank to develop a centralized loan operations department that emphasized regulatory compliance as well as customer service. She was quickly promoted to Senior Vice President and became a member of the executive management team. Joan is a past member of the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of North East Ohio where she held the positions of Board Development Committee Chair, Board Member-at-Large, Secretary, Treasurer, First Vice-Chair, Chair and National Delegate. Joan was a member of the NEO Realignment Committee that merged 5 legacy Councils to become Girl Scouts of North East Ohio. Joan currently volunteers with MANA (Management Assistance to Nonprofit Agencies) as a Board coach. She is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace University, Leadership Lorain County and Neighborhood Leadership Cleveland. Joan and her husband Jesse have four grown children and three grandsons who are the love of her life. Joan retired in 2015 and has kept busy clicking off adventures on her bucket list.
