No matter how persuasive, compelling, or brilliant you or your nonprofit organization’s mission may be, it's difficult to build a relationship with a potential donor prospect, foundation program officer, or corporate sponsorship director if you can't get them to call you back!
Regardless of the size of your organization, new prospects are critical to maintaining the success of fund development efforts. Most development directors and gift officers use boring, outdated voice and email methods, which leave them sounding just like every other fund development person in the world. If you want to get more return calls from your qualification and cultivation prospects, then you have to do something different from everyone else out there - you have to stand out, be likeable, and actively deserve a return call.
This interactive training session presented by fundraising expert Bill Mountcastle will:
- share how to develop well-crafted scripts and correspondence that you can adapt and make your own in order to deliver outreach messages sincerely and not sound scripted;
- help you develop a better understanding of how to secure, plan, and look forward to respectful conversations where you’ll learn about your prospect’s philanthropic capacity and interests;
- teach you ways to respect to the gatekeeper and how to build rapport to connect to the person you want to talk to; and
- reveal why emails are not better than picking up the phone when it comes to relationship building, and why the “easy” option of emailing prospects won’t build a relationship that closes many gifts.
