Come to this Grants Professionals Association Meeting and hear a presentation by Lauren Steiner and Dana Textoris of Grants Plus.
Sharpen your pencils and your thinking caps! You will come away from this hands-on session with an understanding of:
- What four criteria are key to success in grant writing.
- Why the most important step in your grant writing process happens before you write a word.
- How to maximize the punch of your next proposal in 25 words or less.
By the end of the hour, participants will share their own compelling statements, and the group will crown a "Most Compelling Grant Writer of the Day!"
About the presenters:
Lauren Steiner is Founder + President of Grants Plus, a Cleveland-based firm that makes it easier for nonprofit organizations to succeed in the grant seeking process. Under Lauren’s leadership, Grants Plus has helped organizations secure nearly $100 million in grant funding since 2007. Grants Plus earned a Weatherhead 100 Upstart Award for four consecutive years, a 2014 Inside Business Northeast Ohio Success Award, and a 2016 Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award from the American Psychological Association. Lauren holds a BS from Ohio University and a JD from Cleveland State University, Cleveland Marshall College of Law. In 2007 she was named a “Top 25 Under 35” by Inside Business Magazine.
Dana Textoris is Director of Client Engagement for Grants Plus. She builds relationships with nonprofits in need of Grants Plus’s services and she designed the company’s standards for excellence in grant writing. Before joining Grants Plus in 2013, she built the development program for the California chapter of NARAL Pro-Choice America, recruited investments from leading West Coast philanthropists as Director of Major Gifts for the ACLU of Northern California, and managed a $1 million tribute campaign for The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Dana holds a BA with distinction in Women’s Studies from The Ohio State University.
