This briefing will feature an expert panel and lightning talks by key stakeholders who will discuss the budget through the lens of health/social services, education and economic/community development.
Foundation Center Midwest is hosting an informative, non-partisan, and interactive briefing on to reflect on the outcome of the 2018-19 state budget and its impact on local communities like Northeast Ohio. The goals of this briefing are to 1) raise awareness among nonprofits, funders, and the general community about the state budget process and 2) its implications on community efforts in health and human services, community and economic development, and education.
The briefing will feature:
Moderated Panel Ohio’s state budget and what it means for local communities
Expert Panel will focus on state budget outcomes related to health and human services, education, community development and local governments.
Short TED-talk inspired briefings (3-5 minutes) from key community leaders that will provide additional perspective on the impact of the state budget on local efforts around health and human services, local government, and economic development/entrepreneurship.
Closing Remarks & Call to Action
This free program will be at Vocational Guidance Services in their Kacalieff Room, 2235 East 55th Street. Free parking is available behind the building (make a left on Thackeray Avenue and park behind the building on the left). Doors will open at 8:30am and a continental breakfast will be served.
