Foundation Maps Professional is Foundation Center's premier data visualization tool and the easiest way to see who is funding what and where around the world. Attend our New York Library Orientation on Using Foundation Maps and learn basic ways to use this interactive mapping tool. Afterwards, enjoy a cup of coffee on us, stay in the library and conduct your own searches for philanthropic data. Foundation Maps allows you to search over 5.8 million grants, 71,000 foundations and 461,000 recipients. New data is added every week. You can bring your own laptop or use library laptops.
This Library Orientation is for funders, consultants, grantmaker networks, nonprofits, social sector professionals, and anyone interested in philanthropy.
You will learn the most important things you need to know about using Foundation Maps, including:
Basic tips on exploring grants by Recipient or Funder Location, and Area Served
Basic tips on narrowing searches by Location, Subject Area and More Filters

It is advisable, but not necessary, to allow for time after the class for using the library at your own pace.
