New York Library Orientation: Basic Tips for Using Foundation Directory Online Professional

Do you know want to learn how to use Foundation Directory Professional? Foundation Directory Online (FDO) makes it easy to turn foundations into funders. It’s the only resource you need to search for the foundations most likely to give you grants. Attend our New York Library Orientation on Using Foundation Directory Online Professional and receive an introduction to Foundation Center’s premier funding database of 140,000+ U.S. grantmakers & 5.6 million + grants. We will even provide basic search tips for finding the U.S. federal agencies and non-U.S. grantmakers in Foundation Directory Online Professional. Afterwards, enjoy a cup of coffee on us, stay in the library and find your own prospects using FDO Professional. You can bring your own laptop or use library laptops.
This Library Orientation is for social sector professionals and board members, people who are new to fundraising, nonprofit management students and startups.
You will learn the most important things you need to know about using Foundation Directory Online, including:
- Basic tips on using Search Grantmakers
- Basic tips on using Search Grants
- A brief overview of Pathways (beta)
- Downloading and emailing funder profiles and grant records
It is advisable, but not necessary, to allow for time after the class for using the library at your own pace.
