Check-in: 9:30 am
Your small nonprofit organization needs public relations and communications efforts to advance its advocacy, drive clients to programs, generate media coverage and attract donors. Press contact, website, newsletter -- these tasks are assigned to YOU because there is no trained colleague or volunteer to handle them.
Learn - and master - the essential things you, as a non-communications specialist, must do to support the organization, while managing the multiple tasks that are the core responsibilities of your job.
- Identify key audiences and develop messages that they will care about;
- Determine ways to reach them;
- Assign realistic communications goals to events, programs and advocacy;
- Create and adhere to a calendar;
- Make it easy for colleagues to participate and support communications.
