Using case studies, you will learn about organizations that have faced these pressures, and find out what strategies worked and didn’t. You will also have a chance to apply these lessons to real organizations and nonprofit leaders and develop strategies for your own organization.
Attendees will learn how to modify business practices to make them relevant and applicable to the nonprofit context, and thus to build constructive relationship between the board and management to collaborate towards achieving their shared mission.

About the authors:
Jyoti Bachani is an Associate Professor in the School of Business and Economics at Saint Mary’s College of California. She earned a Phd in Strategy and International Business from London Business School and Masters in Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. She has several years of experience as a strategy consultant to large corporations.
Mary Vradelis is a consultant with over 20 years of experience with dozens of nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area, providing management & leadership training, coaching, and retreat facilitation for long-term stability and growth. Mary has two graduate degrees, including a Master’s in Art Therapy and an MBA from Saint Mary’s college of California.
