NGOs (non-governmental organizations) are present in nearly every country around the globe and work to address social issues. There is no central search engine that catalogs the work and focus areas of every NGO in the world.
Look for the country's agency in charge of regulating charities; it might have a searchable database of its registered organizations (for example, the Internal Revenue Service for the United States, or the Canada Revenue Agency for Canada).
