About

Middle Georgia Regional Library is excited to partner with Foundation Center South to present this two-part, 90-minute workshop!

We will open the workshop by presenting the characteristics of effective nonprofits and demonstrating how you can transform your idea for a charitable program or service into a fully-fledged organization. The workshop leaders will help you address such commonly asked questions as:

-What groundwork do I need to have in place before approaching foundations for funding?
-What are the steps to obtaining incorporation and nonprofit status?
-What are the characteristics of successful nonprofits?
-What are the basic elements of a project proposal?
-What are the “do’s” and “don’ts” of writing and submitting a proposal?
-How do I follow up on my proposal, whether the answer is yes or no?

We will spend the second part of the workshop focusing on the keys for planning and writing a competitive grant proposal, including:

-The basic elements of a proposal
-The "do's" and "don'ts" of writing and submitting a proposal
-How to follow up whether the answer is yes or no
