About

The annual Columbus Survey of community foundations is referred to by many as the “census of the community foundation field,” started by the Columbus Foundation in 1988 and administered by CF Insights since 2008. The Columbus Survey collects self-reported data from across the field to uncover financial trends and operational activity among community foundations in the United States.

Last year’s survey results reflecting fiscal year (FY) 2017 showed that community foundation asset sizes grew at an accelerated rate from the year before, with the median community foundation experiencing a 12.7% asset increase in an economy that allowed for strong investment returns. The field's aggregate gift total reached a new high for the second consecutive year, while field-wide grantmaking saw its sixth consecutive annual increase.

Join David Rosado, director of CF Insights by Candid, as he discusses some of the top-level findings from the latest Columbus Survey reflecting FY2018 and provides a demonstration of how your community foundation can leverage comparative data from peers to provide useful insights.
