During the workshop we’ll discuss the challenges in managing finances in a nonprofit organization and review best practices for addressing those issues. In response to those challenges, participants will be introduced to key financial principles and a comprehensive financial management process model that will enable them to:

• Align their financial strategies with business goals as a basis for developing budgets,
• Illustrate the link between budgets and financial statements,
• Analyze actual financial performance against budgets,
• Implement any necessary management changes due to performance variances, and
• Forecast cashflows and financial results.

Learning Objectives:

After attending the Best Practices In Managing Nonprofit Finances workshop, participants will
be able to:

• Internalize the business value of a financial management process,
• Understand the roles, responsibilities and the process components of a financial management
infrastructure that can be implemented within their organizations, and
• Conceptualize how financial analysis information can be used to make and support business
decisions.
