Kaberi Banerjee-Murthy joined Brooklyn Community Foundation in December 2015, and has almost 20 years of philanthropic experience in education, health, community development, civic affairs, and arts and culture at the local, regional, and national level.

She most recently served as the Vice President of Education at the Social Impact Exchange.  Prior to that, she was Program Director at Crown Family Philanthropies. She has also served as Senior Program Officer for Education at the Picower Foundation in New York, Philanthropic Advisor at Hemenway & Barnes in Boston, and Program Officer at the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation in Chicago. She has served as a philanthropic consultant for Ford Foundation’s GrantCraft, Grant Management Associates, and the Council on Foundations.

Kaberi currently serves on the Steering Committee for the NYC Fund for Girls & Young Women of Color, as the Co-chair of the New York Juvenile Justice Initiative and as the Racial Justice National Co-chair for Education Funders Strategy Group.  She is part of Coro Leadership New York and CF Leads Executive Leadership. Kaberi is also a Steering Committee member of the Asian Women’s Giving Circle.  She served as a Board Member for the Crossroads Fund and a National Board Member for Grantmakers in Education.

She graduated magna cum laude from Carleton College with a BA in History and Women's Studies, and holds a Masters of Education from Harvard University with a focus on planning and social policy. Kaberi lives in Park Slope with her husband and two sons.  You are most likely to find her and her epicurean brood checking out the newest spot on the foodie scene.

Anticipating the degree to which charity regulators would enforce the laws at the state and federal levels, he wrote the book Charity Registration: State-by-State Guidelines for Compliance. Published in 2008, it remains the only comprehensive manual of its kind. The book signaled an expanded practice: nonprofits that did not have the workforce to complete the registrations themselves, sought help from Tony and his staff.

Tony Martignetti Nonprofit Radio, his podcast, kicked off in July 2010. He hosts 50 shows a year, picking the brains of authors, consultants and thought leaders to help small- and mid-size shops. Nonprofit Radio is his way of giving to the charity community beyond his consulting practice.
